@Simping for hotties OK, so just from the explanations from the previous chapters, he’s not the Emperor’s son, but the Pontiff’s son (hence the holy magic, I guess).
I do’nt know why he’s in line for the throne, and consequently been call the “first prince”, though. Maybe it’s been explained previously, but it’s been years since I stopped reading because there were no more updates, so if there was a hint, then I do’nt remember at all.
Anyway, just taking the recent information a face value, it looks like he’s considered a valid heir along with the Emperor’s children, so he’s just definitely NOT her brother. Unless both the Pontiff and the Emperor would have screwed the same woman at some point, but it’s probably extremely doubtful.
So it’s probably just the Pontiff and the Emperor both having right to govern the Empire (it can probably be govern by the Pontiff as a regent until one of the heirs ascend the throne, if need be), and their political power is probably on similar standings.
As a result, I understand that any heir from both of them could inherit the throne. In fact, since it feels like just killing the contenders would make you the next Emperor, I can even imagine some strong nobody coming from nowhere and strong enough to defeat any contender would become the Emperor without anybody having anything to say (other than oppose and die, I suppose). :p
I don’t understand their relation if he is the prince then why the pontiff or priest is his father? And then how is he her brother?? Plz someone explain

… Ans sorry for the many typos and redundancies. They escaped my re-reading, and I can’t see any option to edit, so…
