You putting way too high expectations on a slave child. And if you ever worked in retail you would know common sense isn’t very common lol. What seems easy and obvious to you, could be hard and not possible to someone else. Especially if they were put in a torture room since 5 years old in order to make them cry. Maybe common sense is way different to her… cause her common everyday is every different than you the average person. Good bye

@Starburst. You’re right, she’s was taken as a slave when she was a child, but she’s not stupid. She has common sense. You don’t need to know how to read and write to have common sense. Plus she wasnt born a slave. She was taken as a slave around five. Which is where she learned how to talk and communicate. Plus she’s smart enough to know what a mermaid is. A slave wouldn’t know about mermaids unless someone told her. So, if her slave owners didn’t want her to know she’s a mermaid, why would they mention it? This suggests she either heard about it from other people or from other slaves. If not she could have learned about mermaids from her mother before she died. However, it’s unclear how she remembered and knew so much about them at such a young age unless her mother frequently talked about mermaids. Plus like the FL said in her head when she realized she was a mermaid she knew she shouldn’t be discovered. Meaning she knew she had to swim deeper into the lake (no matter how scared she was) to not be discovered and sold as a slave again. This proves she understood the dangerous situation she was in and what needed to be done for her survival. I get your point, but in her case, she’s far from lacking common sense or being stupid, so what I said before still stands.

Compared to most manhwa stories I don’t think it’s as bad as everyone is saying. She never been in water so how would she know deeper is better? She was a slave, a SLAVE. Can’t read, write, and has been beat and forced a towel over her eyes most of the time. Expecting her to be smart at all (a slave child) is wildly stupid of the reader. Theirs worst stories out here and everyone is dog piling on a slave child for not being smart…

@CoolQueen22 I agree I couldn’t even make it past the first chapter because of how lack of common sense this manhwa made and the stupid FL. First of all after finding out she was a mermaid instead of swimming deeper into the lake to not be discovered she just stayed above water? Even though in her mind she was worried about being discovered and taken as a slave. Yet she stayed above water??? In the end she soon did get discovered by her so called brother. I don’t know if they are actually related yet or he was just saying that since they look nothing alike. However I think this so called brother is the ML since he is in the cover picture. Which I find it weird to have a romantic relationship with someone you see as your sister… Also to the other people below saying you can’t rate a story after reading chapter 10 you are totally wrong. The first chapter is supposed to be the hook to the rest of the story. If the first chapter doesn’t gets one’s attention they have a right to judge the story based on the first chapter. Normally the first chapter forshadows what the rest of the story will be like. So yeah you can judge a story after one chapter.
